Donald Mates, a WWII veteran now living in Palm Beach talks about his
traumatic experiences as 19 year old Marine landing on Iwo Jima on Day 2 of
this horrific, deadly battle. He has not forgotten the shock of hitting the
beach, of seeing friends killed in front of him, nor his long recuperation
from serious wounds he incurred.
 
Bob Williamson and Bob Barnes, of Juno Beach and West Palm Beach
respectively, met in WWII while training for a unique group: the 10th
Mountain Division, but are now friends living near one another in South
Florida.

involving skiing, rapelling and mountain climbing.
